Prayer:
Father in heaven, who at the baptism of Jesus in the River Jordan proclaimed him your beloved Son and anointed him with the Holy Spirit: Grant that all who are baptized into his Name may keep the covenant they have made, and boldly confess him as Lord and Savior; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.
SONG: HOW GREAT THOU ART
O Lord, my God, when I in awesome wonder consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee,
”How great Thou art, how great Thou art!”
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee,
”How great Thou art, how great Thou art!”
And when I think of God, His Son not sparing sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing He bled and died to take away my sin
When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation and lead me home, what joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow with humble adoration and then proclaim, my God, how great Thou art
Corporate prayer
READING OF THE WORD – Psalm 92: 1-4
At the conclusion of the reading, the speaker will say, “The Word of the Lord,” to which we all reply:
Thanks Be To God
SONG: GOOD TO ME
I put all my hope in the truth of Your promise
And I steady my heart on the ground of Your goodness
When I’m bowed down with sorrow I will lift up Your name
And the foxes in the vineyard will not steal my joy
Because You are good to me, good to me
You are good to me, good to me
You are good to me
I lift my eyes to the hills where my help is found
Your voice fills the night, raise my head up to hear the sound
Though fires burn all around me, I will praise You my God
And the foxes in the vineyard will not steal my joy
Your goodness and mercy shall follow me
All my life, I will trust in Your promise
Your goodness and mercy shall follow me
All my life, I will trust in Your promise
Your goodness and mercy shall follow me
All my life, I will trust in Your promise
SONG: How deep the fathers love for us
How deep the Father’s love for us,
How vast beyond all measure,
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure.
How great the pain of searing loss –
The Father turns His face away,
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory.
Behold the man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders;
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished;
His dying breath has brought me life –
I know that it is finished.
I will not boast in anything,
No gifts, no power, no wisdom;
But I will boast in Jesus Christ,
His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer;
But this I know with all my heart –
His wounds have paid my ransom.
Sermon: deburdened Through prayer - Philipians 4:4-7

SONG: ABIDE WITH ME
Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers, fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, abide with me.
Thou on my head in early youth didst smile,
And though rebellious and perverse meanwhile,
Thou hast not left me, as oft as I left Thee.
On to the close, Lord, abide with me.
I need Thy presence every passing hour;
What but Thy grace can foil the Tempter's power?
Who like Thyself my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, oh, abide with me!
I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;
Ills have no weight and tears no bitterness.
Where is thy sting death? Where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still if Thou abide with me.
Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes,
Shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies.
Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me!
Benediction:
May we be compelled by the love of God, the gospel of Jesus, and the presence of the Holy Spirit to pursue His mission for our good and His glory.
