Call To Worship

Prayer:

Almighty and everlasting God, whose will it is to restore all things in your well-beloved Son, the King of kings and Lord of lords: Mercifully grant that the peoples of the earth, divided and enslaved by sin, may be freed and brought together under his most gracious rule; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

SONG: BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD

He's carried all our sorrows and griefs
He was bruised for our iniquities
He bore all of our shame and made our cries
Forsaken and was pierced into his side

Behold The Lamb of God who takes away our sins
Behold the Word who came both son of God and man
Behold The Lamb of God spotless He was slain
But death was not His equal there’s victory in His name
Behold the lamb of God

No jewels upon His crown but thorns instead
Mocked and beat and lifted up to death
Pinned up to a cross between two thieves
The perfect son of man was called guilty

Buried in the ground a stone marked grave
But yes that stone would soon be rolled away
The Son of God now stands as glory’s king
His resurrection is our victory

Behold The Lamb of God seated by the throne
Righteousness was His our sin He did atone
Behold The Lamb of God who’s standing in our place
Though we’re not His equals we share His perfect name

Corporate Prayer

READING OF THE WORD –

Romans 6: 1-5

At the conclusion of the reading, the speaker will say, “The Word of the Lord,” to which we all reply:
Thanks Be To God

SONG: I STAND AMAZED (HOW MARVELOUS)

I stand amazed in the presence of Jesus the Nazarene,
And wonder how He could love me, a sinner, condemned, unclean.

How marvelous! How wonderful! And my song shall ever be,
How marvelous! How wonderful! Is my Savior’s love for me!

He took our sins and our sorrows, He made them His very own.
He bore the burden to Calvary and suffered and died alone.

When with the ransomed in glory His face I at last shall see,
‘Twill be my joy through the ages to sing of His love for me.

Song: Before the throne

Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea,
A great High Priest whose name is Love,
Who ever lives and pleads for me.
My name is graven on his hands,
My name is written on his heart;
I know that while in heav'n he stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart,
No tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look and see him there
Who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free;
For God the Just is satisfied
To look on him and pardon me,
To look on him and pardon me.

Behold him there! The risen Lamb,
My perfect, spotless righteousness;
The great unchangeable "I AM,"
The King of glory and of grace!
One with himself I cannot die,
My soul is purchased by his blood;
My life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ, my Savior and my God,
With Christ, my Savior and my God!

Sermon: the promise of resurrection (1 corinthians 15:17-20)

Communion

SONG: LIVING HOPE

How great the chasm that lay between us, how high the mountain I could not climb.
In desperation, I turned to heaven and spoke Your name into the night.
Then through the darkness, Your loving-kindness tore through the shadows of my soul.
The work is finished, the end is written; Jesus Christ, my living hope

Who could imagine so great a mercy? What heart could fathom such boundless grace?
The God of ages stepped down from glory to wear my sin and bear my shame.
The cross has spoken, I am forgiven. The King of kings calls me His own.
Beautiful Savior, I'm Yours forever; Jesus Christ, my living hope.

Hallelujah, praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain, there’s salvation in Your name;
Jesus Christ, my living hope!

Then came the morning that sealed the promise,
Your buried body began to breathe.
Out of the silence, the Roaring Lion
declared the grave has no claim on me. (repeat)

Jesus, Yours is the victory!

Benediction:

May we be compelled by the love of God, the gospel of Jesus, and the presence of the Holy Spirit to pursue His mission for our good and His glory.
