Call To Worship - Romans 8:34-39

Prayer: To be read aloud:

Almighty and everliving God, in your tender love for the human race you sent your Son our Savior Jesus Christ to take upon Him our nature, and to suffer death upon the cross, giving us the example of His great humility: Mercifully grant that we may walk in the way of His suffering, and also share in His resurrection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Song: I Stand Amazed (How Marvelous)

I stand amazed in the presence of Jesus the Nazarene, And wonder how He could love me, a sinner, condemned, unclean.

How marvelous! How wonderful! And my song shall ever be, How marvelous! How wonderful! Is my Savior’s love for me!

He took our sins and our sorrows, He made them his very own. He bore the burden to Calvary and suffered and died alone.

When with the ransomed in glory His face I at last shall see, Twill be my joy through the ages to sing of His love for me.

Reading of the Word To be read aloud:

Today’s reading is from Psalm 118, verses 19-26:

Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter through them and give thanks to the Lord. This is the gate of the Lord; the righteous shall enter through it. I thank you that you have answered me and have become my salvation. The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is the Lord's doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Save us, we pray, O Lord! O Lord, we pray, give us success! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! We bless you from the house of the Lord.

The word of the Lord.

All: Thanks Be To God

Song: Living Hope

How great the chasm that lay between us, how high the mountain I could not climb. In desperation, I turned to heaven and spoke Your name into the night. Then through the darkness, Your loving-kindness tore through the shadows of my soul. The work is finished, the end is written; Jesus Christ, my living hope

Who could imagine so great a mercy? What heart could fathom such boundless grace? The God of ages stepped down from glory to wear my sin and bear my shame. The cross has spoken, I am forgiven. The King of kings calls me His own. Beautiful Savior, I'm Yours forever; Jesus Christ, my living hope

Hallelujah, praise the One who set me free Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me You have broken every chain ,there’s salvation in Your name; Jesus Christ, my living hope

Then came the morning that sealed the promise, Your buried body began to breathe. Out of the silence, the Roaring Lion declared the grave has no claim on me. (repeat) Jesus, Yours is the victory!

Song: He Will Hold Me Fast

When I fear my faith will fail, Christ will hold me fast; When the tempter would prevail, He will hold me fast. I could never keep my hold Through life’s fearful path; For my love is often cold; He must hold me fast.

He will hold me fast, He will hold me fast; For my Savior loves me so, He will hold me fast.

Those He saves are His delight, Christ will hold me fast; Precious in His holy sight, He will hold me fast. He’ll not let my soul be lost; His promises shall last; Bought by Him at such a cost, He will hold me fast.

For my life He bled and died, Christ will hold me fast; Justice has been satisfied; He will hold me fast. Raised with Him to endless life, He will hold me fast ‘Till our faith is turned to sight When He comes at last!

Sermon: Glory In The Highest (Acts 9:32-43)

If you have communion elements, Randy will lead a time of communion at the end of the sermon video.

Song: You Have Been For Us

In the valley of shadows, when the darkness is closing in, You have carried our sorrows, You’re as close as You’ve ever been.

When we feel we are crumbling, You will always remain the same. When we find we are wandering, You are ever the cloud and flame.

You have been for us, with us, full of grace. You have been faithful, mercy new each day.

For the good of Your children, You have never withheld Your heart. And in all of creation, You are making a brand new start.

You shine in the darkness, shadows, they cannot hide. You shine in the darkness, You’ll always be by our side.

You are the first, the last, and all between. To You we raise our voice, to You we sing.

…..

Our treasures fame and riches made with wither like grass just the same.

The things of earth like dust and sand will pass through all our clutching hands.

Our hope is found in Jesus Christ, forevermore He is our prize.

Reconciled the souls of man, forgiveness from the Fathers hands.

And with the Spirt we are freed, and soon all tribes and tongues shall sing,

“Glory be to Christ our King and the Holy Trinity!”

Benediction:

May we be compelled by the love of God, the gospel of Jesus, and the presence of the Holy Spirit to pursue His mission for our good and His glory.
