Order Of Worship

Call To Worship – Isaiah 11:1-5

Prayer:

To be read aloud, together:

O God, you have taught us to keep all your commandments by loving you and our neighbor: Grant us the grace of your Holy Spirit, that we may be devoted to you with our whole heart, and united to one another with pure affection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

SONG: God the Spirit

Holy fount of inspiration by whose gift the great of old
Spoke the word of revelation marvelous and manifold

God the Spirit we adore Thee, in the Triune Godhead One
One in love and power and glory with the Father and the Son

Author of the new creation, giver of the second birth
May thy ceaseless renovation cleanse our souls from stains of earth

When we wander Lord direct us, keep us in the Master’s way
Let they strong swift sword protect us warring in the evil days
Shall the church now faint or fear when the Comforter is near?

READING OF THE WORD – John 18:33-37

At the conclusion of the reading, the speaker will say, “The Word of the Lord,” to which we all reply:
Thanks Be To God

SONG: Always

My foes are many, they rise against me
But I will hold my ground
I will not fear the war, I will not fear the storm
My help is on the way, my help is on the way

Oh, my God, He will not delay
My refuge and strength always
I will not fear, His promise is true
My God will come through always, always

Troubles surround me, chaos abounding
My soul will rest in You
I will not fear the war, I will not fear the storm
My help is on the way, my help is on the way

I lift my eyes up, my help comes from the Lord

Song: In Christ Alone

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My comforter, my all in all
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand

Communion

SONG: I Surrender All

All to Jesus I surrender, all to Him I freely give
I will ever love and trust Him, In His presence daily live

I surrender all, I surrender all
All to Thee my blessed Savior, I surrender all

All to Jesus I surrender, humbly at His feet I bow
Worldly pleasures all forsaken, take me Jesus take me now

All to Jesus I surrender, make me Savior wholly Thine
Let me feel Thy Holy Spirit, truly know that Thou art mine

Benediction:

May we be compelled by the love of God, the gospel of Jesus, and the presence of the Holy Spirit to pursue His mission for our good and His glory.
