Call To Worship – Psalm 111

Prayer:

To be read aloud, together:

Almighty God, you have given your only Son to be for us a sacrifice for sin, and also an example of godly life: Give us grace to receive thankfully the fruits of His redeeming work, and to follow daily in the blessed steps of His most holy life; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

SONG: Always

My foes are many, they rise against me
But I will hold my ground
I will not fear the war, I will not fear the storm
My help is on the way, my help is on the way

Oh, my God, He will not delay
My refuge and strength always
I will not fear, His promise is true
My God will come through always, always

Troubles surround me, chaos abounding
My soul will rest in You
I will not fear the war, I will not fear the storm
My help is on the way, my help is on the way

I lift my eyes up, my help comes from the Lord

A Liturgy for Joy

Written by the Creative Team of Church Of The City (NYC)

READING OF THE WORD – 2 Corinthians 9:6-9

At the conclusion of the reading, the speaker will say, “The Word of the Lord,” to which we all reply:
Thanks Be To God

SONG: I Stand Amazed (How MArvelous)

I stand amazed in the presence of Jesus the Nazarene,
And wonder how He could love me, a sinner, condemned, unclean.

How marvelous! How wonderful! And my song shall ever be,
How marvelous! How wonderful! Is my Savior’s love for me!

He took our sins and our sorrows, He made them his very own.
He bore the burden to Calvary and suffered and died alone.

When with the ransomed in glory His face I at last shall see,
Twill be my joy through the ages to sing of His love for me.

Song: Almighty God

Almighty God to You all hearts are open
Search and know our thoughts and anxious fears
Wash us in the fountain of Your mercy
Come with Your light, we cannot hide from You

Almighty God To You all hearts are open
With gratitude we raise our song to You
Come and fill the praises of Your people
In grace and truth You make us new again

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah!

Almighty God to You all hearts are open
We long for more than what this world provides
No shallow spring will ever satisfy us
But Your river deep Floods over everything

Almighty God to You all hearts are open
You take away our sickness and our sin
Oh Lamb of God we gather at Your table
In bread and wine You have supplied our needs

To You all hearts are open, Almighty God

Sermon: Giving Life To The Full (Psalms 112)

Communion

SONG: Give Me Faith

I need You, to soften my heart and break me apart
I need You, to open my eyes, to see that You're shaping my life

All I am, I surrender
Give me faith to trust what You say
That You're good and Your love is great
I'm broken inside, I give You my life

I need You, to soften my heart and break me apart
I need You, to pierce through the dark and cleanse every part of me

I may be weak but Your Spirit's strong in me
My flesh may fail, but my God, You never will

Benediction:

May we be compelled by the love of God, the gospel of Jesus, and the presence of the Holy Spirit to pursue His mission for our good and His glory.
