Call To Worship – Psalm 44:1-8

Prayer:

To be read aloud, together:

Grant to us, Lord, we pray, the spirit to think and do always those things that are right, that we, who cannot exist without you, may by you be enabled to live according to your will; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

SONG: Great Are You Lord

You give life, You are love, You bring light to the darkness
You give hope, You restore, Every heart that is broken
Great are You, Lord

It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise, we pour out our praise
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only

All the earth will shout Your praise
Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing
Great are You, Lord

Testimony - Douglas Buhrer

READING OF THE WORD – Luke 14:12-14

At the conclusion of the reading, the speaker will say, “The Word of the Lord,” to which we all reply:
Thanks Be To God

SONG: The Hollow

You spoke and set the cedars in their roots
Your voice it lit the sun and hung the moon
I stand in awe of everything you do
Oh you who spread the stars and made them new

Who has known the hollow of his hand?
Who is like the lord?
He who marks the heavens with a span
Over all the earth

You said that it would be and it was done
A promise made that cannot be undone
That from the fall comfort it would come
A victory was sure to be won

Your voice has set a captive people free
Your death has pardoned our iniquity
You loosed the chains of all our enemies
No longer slaves you call us family

When flowers fade your word will still endure
The earth will die and yet are hope is sure
You’ll gather up your people that you’ve saved
You’ll give us power and strength when we are faint

Song: Yet Not I But Through Christ In Me

What gift of grace is Jesus my redeemer,
There is no more for heaven now to give
He is my joy, my righteousness, and freedom
My steadfast love, my deep and boundless peace
To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus
For my life is wholly bound to His
Oh how strange and divine, I can sing, “All is mine!”
Yet not I, but through Christ in me

The night is dark, but I am not forsaken
For by my side, the Savior He will stay
I labour on in weakness and rejoicing
For in my need, His power is displayed
To this I hold, my Shepherd will defend me
Through the deepest valley He will lead
Oh the night has been won, and I shall overcome!
Yet not I, but through Christ in me

No fate I dread, I know I am forgiven
The future sure, the price it has been paid
For Jesus bled and suffered for my pardon
And He was raised to overthrow the grave
To this I hold, my sin has been defeated
Jesus now and ever is my plea
Oh the chains are released, I can sing, “I am free!”
Yet not I, but through Christ in me

With every breath, I long to follow Jesus
For He has said that He will bring me home
And day by day I know He will renew me
Until I stand with joy before the throne
To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus
All the glory evermore to Him
When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat:
Yet not I, but through Christ in me!

SONG: You Have Been For Us

In the valley of shadows, when the darkness is closing in,
You have carried our sorrows, You’re as close as You’ve ever been.

When we feel we are crumbling, You will always remain the same.
When we find we are wandering, You are ever the cloud and flame.

You have been for us, with us, full of grace.
You have been faithful, mercy new each day.

For the good of Your children, You have never withheld Your heart.
And in all of creation, You are making a brand new start.

You shine in the darkness, shadows, they cannot hide.
You shine in the darkness, You’ll always be by our side.
You are the first, the last, and all between. To You we raise our voice, to You we sing.

Benediction:

May we be compelled by the love of God, the gospel of Jesus, and the presence of the Holy Spirit to pursue His mission for our good and His glory.
