Triads at Lakewood

What is a triad?

A Triad is made up of three people at LWF who seek to encourage, discern, and intercede in each other’s lives.

The goal is to become friends who meet weekly to help each other be apprentices of Jesus: learning to live with Him, become like Him, and walk in His ways. This is done in the power of the Holy Spirit, who is the transformative presence of Jesus in us.

How are Triads different from groups?

While our groups are designed more for Bible study and prayer, Triads are geared to invite intercession into the nuances of our lives. To do this we learn each other’s stories, assess our present context, and seek God’s best for our future.

Having only three people in each triad allows for more intimate discussion of what we discern God’s specific will is for each individual and gives an opportunity for specific encouragement. The small number also focuses our prayer for one another throughout the week.

What do we do in triads?

Month 1: Story
What are the inflection points in our lives that demonstrate points of significant change? What themes do we discern in God’s work throughout our lives?

Months 2-3: Vision
We seek opportunities for growth and celebration with one another based on what we discern God’s will is for our future.

In all times, we’re praying for Jesus to be the center of our focus, that we would love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
